Oil and Nuts

Safflower

Sweet Chow has consciously chosen to use 100% Expeller Pressed High Oleic Refined Safflower Oil in it's granola blends. Our Safflower oil is rich in nutrients because it is left unprocessed after pressing the oil out of the seed. It has a subtle flavor, aroma and high Vitamin E content. Our oil is mechanically expeller pressed. This natural method is chemical free unlike most oils that use a process of extraction using hexane, leaving harmful residues in the final product. Our High Oleic Safflower Oil is abundant in Monounsaturated Fats and Polyunsaturated Fats. These essential oils promote healthy skin and hair, support proper gland functioning, boost immunity, promote healthy blood, nerves and arteries by breaking down cholesterol.“Essential” means your body needs it but can not manufacture it on it's own. They are the building blocks of cell production, necessary for the assimilation of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. These are essential oils with Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids.

They are also high in vitamin E, calcium, phosphorous, potassium, iron, and niacin, thiamine and riboflavin.

Cashews

Are cream colored and mild tasting. They are not really a nut, but the seed of the sweet Cashew Apple tree. It grows outside of the apple on the lower end, thus receives lots of sunshine. It is a good source of vitamin D, iron, magnesium, copper thiamine and protein. Cashews are high in monounsaturated fats and fiber and are rich in antioxidants.
